Keeping the Whole Family Together

Happy families that get on well with each other do small things which may not seem like a big deal but make a lot of difference. They make the effort to spend time together. They sing happy family songs with each other and talk to each other about their problems. None of these things take huge amounts of effort but keep the relationships intact and strong.

If you’ve never been in a happy family it might seem ridiculous that such simple things can mean the difference between a happy family and a dysfunctional one but they do. If you ask children that are unhappy with the way their parents raised them often they will complain about them not spending any time with them.

This is one of the chief causes of weak relationships – lack of contact and communication. If you don’t want this to happen to your family, get into these simple good habits and learn from the mistakes of others.

Simple Steps to Follow when Mixing Tracks

Here are quick tips and tricks for you to be able to make your own dubstep from scratch. Bear in mind that prior to jumping on to any project, you will need some creative inspiration to be able to make your pieces. Once you have figured out how you choose to proceed, consider these tips when going about your dubstep mixing routines:

  1. Layering is the most important principle in dubstep making. That means putting in the necessary effects one after another, not together. For example, most dubstep makers also go for the kick and share first before any all the rolls or fills. This helps you to focus on what works per section of the track so you do not get lost in all that you want to do. Remember, focus allows you to give the proper attention to each instrument effect at each stage.
  2. After all the effects are done, you can start adding the bassline. This section requires a separate attention on to itself. The bassline is based on a specific sequence of notes (preferably matched to the melody) unlike the kick and snare effects. As such, make sure to use your keen music ears when laying in the bass.
  3. Once the drums and bass are done, you can add the other instruments as desired. From here, you can put the finishing touches to complete your masterpiece.

Learning how to make your own dubstep is not that hard. Just focus on the essential steps and give time to each one to create a track that is ready for the rock session.

Learn Guitar Chords Effectively: Reward Yourself

Typical mammalian DNA Combination of plant developmental environments ...Give yourself credit when you learn new things, especially when you learn guitar chords. Mind you, learning and mastering those guitar chords is not an easy task to accomplish. Some even give up, become frustrated, and eventually became depressed. So if you are one of the lucky few who have mastered this part very well, then that’s more than a reason to celebrate! Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done.

Sometimes, self recognition is one of the most taken for granted and the most ignored thing nowadays when this is one of the most important things that can keep our sanity intact. We don’t need to overdo it, because doing so will be considered bragging. You can buy yourself something new, like that shirt that you’ve been eyeing on the malls. Indulge yourself for once, you did one hell of a job mastering these tricky guitar chords.

The Female Voices of New Age Music

The female voices of New Age Music, with the exception of Enya, are not well known to mainstream music fans. But there is an enormous variety of styles from female vocalists with rich and varied musical backgrounds, who incorporate an ecletic mix of influences into their compositions. Lisa Gerrard is one the most creative. An Australian, who grew up in a neighbourhood with Turkish, Greek, Irish, and Indian residents, created a series of ground-breaking CD’s as half of the duo “Dead Can Dance.” Eventually embarking on a solo career, Lisa went “Hollywood”, composing (and often performing) music for films. Her music and voice can be heard on the soundtracks on such films as Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator”,”Whale Rider” and “Man On Fire.” Another female new age vocalist of note is Scotland’s Mary McBride. Favorably compared to Enya in terms of style, her totally original CD – “MARY’S MESSAGE” has gained her International recognition.

Forget the Rules when It Comes to Guitar Pedals

Don’t let anyone tell you how to set up your guitar pedals. If you’re a guitarist, you’re probably any level of tone freak. Maybe you’re hardcore, or maybe you’re casual. You’ll read a lot on the web suggesting you need to do certain things to get your tone right, but I encourage you to challenge it. Granted, some pedals are designed to be the first in the chain, but put that pedal in the back, and listen. It may sound a litte funky, but that might be just the thing you need to make your tone your own.

Take a look at Trey Anastashio from Phish. He has two Keeley modded Ibanez Tube Screamers TS-9 pedals connected directly to each other. You might think that would be a little noisy, but he uses the second pedal as a controller for the first. With this experimenting, Trey found out he can actually warm his Tube Driver by using a second one in a manner that it wasn’t invented for.

Do you know that the quality of a beat making software affects its cost? Yes, it happens most of the time. High quality beat makers usually cost higher than the ones with low quality. However, we cannot say that affordable beat making applications have low quality. There are some application developers that are selling their high quality beat making applications for very cheap prices. They aim to share their self made applications to other people who needs them. Usually, most high priced beat making software come from well known software companies. We cannot conclude that the best beat making software can be bought only at licensed companies. We may never know that the best beat making application was created by a high school student or a dropped out student. The best way for you to know or assess the quality level of a certain software is to give each of them a test drive.

How to Avoid Boredom with Cardio

Cardio is important if you want to lose fat. But if your goal to build muscle I would avoid it for now until you want to cut up again.

What lots of gym newbies fall into is the same old boring 30 minute jog when they want to do cardio. But the thing about doing the steady pace cardio is that it takes longer, does not burn as much fat, and is just flat out boring.

You can save time and get excited when it comes to cardio by switching to what is called high intensity interval training. This is all about alternating between high intensity and low intensity work. Think of it like lifting weights. You work your muscles for 30 to 60 seconds and then rest for 30 or 60 seconds.

So instead of jogging for a good 30 minutes you can alternate between sprinting and walking for about 10 sets in 20 minutes to achieve the same workout. Don’t forget to alternate your cardio days with your workout days and make sure to perform ab exercises as well as compound exercises.

Wedding Within Months

When my fiance proposed to me, I was the happiest girl in the world. I knew he was planning on it, but I just was not sure when he would. I am so thankful he did not wait too long because I am so ready to start our lives together as husband and wife. We decided to get married just a few months after the proposal which meant a lot of work to get the perfect wedding together. My aunt located a caterer while my sister handled the decorations and flowers. My fiance was able to book a wedding reception DJ and I made all the favors. We got the church and reception hall, picked out our gowns and tuxes, and sent out the invitations all within a couple of weeks. It is hard to believe, but I am going to be married really soon to the best man in the world.

Pink Floyd – the Piper at the Gates of Dawn

With the Pink Floyd Discovery Box Set coming out this September I’ve been listning through my old Pink Floyd CDs and I’ve come to the conclusion that in many ways their very first album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, is also my favorite.

Of course this album was really recorded by a different band than the one that made The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall in the 1970s.

The band that made The Piper at the Gates of Dawn was lead by Syd Barret. He was the principle songwriter, the lead singer, and the lead guitarist of the group. But after he had a mental breakdown and could no longer cope with being a part of the band he was replaced by David Gilmour.

Syd’s Floyd was a strange band indeed. His songs were childlike in a way but very imaginative. I think what I like about them is how colorful they are and how memorable they are. They don’t sound like anything else. They grab my attention. Quite a bit of Pink Floyd’s later music is sort of ambient in nature. It doesn’t reach out and grab you, it’s really a whole different thing.

It’s sort of like they based the post Syd Barrett sound almost entirely on the spacy bits of “Insterstellar Overdrive” probably because that’s what they could do. And yes, they became very good at it.

Certainly The Dark Side of the Moon is a masterpiece, I do not deny that for even a second.

In fact I’m a big fan of the post Syd Pink Floyd and I plan on buying the Discovery Box Set when it comes out. But still; there’s something special about this first album and the whimsical songs that it contains. A certain magic that they never had again.
